Criminal art

I came across some more amazing street art by the very talented Banksy that I thought some might enjoy.

“Some people become cops because they want to make the world a better place. Some people become vandals because they want to make the world a better looking place.”
— Banksy (Wall and Piece)

“Graffiti is one of the few tools you have if you have almost nothing.
And even if you don’t come up with a picture to cure world poverty you can
make someone smile while they’re having a piss.”
— Banksy (Banging Your Head Against a Brick Wall)

“The greatest crimes in the world are not committed by people breaking the rules but by people following the rules. It’s people who follow orders that drop bombs and massacre villages”
— Banksy

How is it that something that can take something so mundane or even ugly and make it lovely can be considered a crime at all? I understand that nobody wants crass and vulgar statements or pictures tagged onto the side of their business, but is this really is the same category?

Dreaming Dexter

Subliminal messages are everywhere, intentional or unintentional in meaning our brains pick something up from everything. My boyfriend is currently having me watch Dexter (neurotic vigilante serial-killer series) Which is a damn good show but has apparently been giving me some pretty f-ed up dreams, I say apparently because I can hardly ever remember my dreams. They say that within 10 minutes of waking we forget 50% of what we retained while asleep and 80% is gone after 15 minutes.
One of the most entertaining subliminal messages to me are cigarettes in movies. Have you ever noticed when you are in a room with smokers, whenever somebody on t.v. lights up every smoker in the room does the same. It's like domino's bic style, an addiction switch in our minds. What subliminal messages do you notice, which do you respond too?

Thought extraction/ blogging newbie

I suppose for me joining the blogging world is a way of working through the jumbled chaos of my thoughts, as well as an effort to share the way I think and feel about random things. So if anyone out there stumbles upon my new e-journal feel free to comment, share or connect.
